Shortlived played no holds barred brain-bursting shoeless fastcore. Holding their first gig in a garage in Palmerston North, 2007, Shortlived were a regular fixture on the Wellington scene during the late 2000s and toured to Australia (twice) and through Europe in 2009. They released two 7” EPs with Idoneum Bello Records and a 12” self-titled album through Sam's Always Never Fun. Dan stayed on in Europe at the end of the tour and the band went into hiatus. Shortlived members went on to form Rogernomix, Fantails, Ted Dibiase, Of Prey, Meth Drinker, The Johos, Phone Sex Robots, Freak Magnet, Bonecruncher, Total Ruin, TVX, Piggery, DAHTM, Bordger among others. In 2010 they briefly reemerged at Punkfest 2010, playing a sweaty Irish Society Hall as part of an 18 band 12 hour marathon.
